ENGLISH LEAGUE FOOTBALL ON TV IN SWEDEN

1969-1995

Steve Heighway in Liverpool didn´t know. In fact not many in England knew what the Swedes could do. They watched English Football on Television.

This excellent programme, called Tipsextra was a brilliant success. The first match, Wolverhampton vs Sunderland in the end of November 1969 was the beginning of something that continued until 18th of March 1995. In total 423 matches. From  season 1995-96 the programme changed name to Tipslördag and was broadcast in another channel. It still continues, but nowdays we have the possibility to watch matches 3 days a week by pay-TV.

Just to remember, here are the matches in the 3 first seasons.
